For me, a straight line symbolizes perfection and unfreedom, because it cannot tolerate any distortion which means that it must be made with tools and cannot be drawn by freehand. Each straight line becomes a kind of "practice" in a stable rhythm. Slow pace and concentrated mind are needed for this practice, to frozen each moment. In this series of works, the size is not large, but they are all completed in discontinuous time. I tried to connect time and space, therefore I used straight lines that should have been perfect, yet created a visually broken and fractured spaces. It represents that a certain perfection we repeatedly pursue is often distorted due to other unknown factors. These lines left on papers become an event in a certain period of time, transform to mental landscapes.
